Individual Psychotherapy
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
Pascal 17th century philosopher
The photo above could be seen as a metaphor for individual psychotherapy, a process of moving from dry land to wading in the shallows and then learning to swim in deeper waters.
In addition, this photo illustrates the liminal space we are often in prior to developmental changes. The word “liminal” comes from the latin root, limen, which means “threshold.” This space is a crossing over space where you have left something behind, yet you are not yet fully in something else. A transitional space.
Individual psychotherpy is a rite of passage involving the hard work of digging deeper to unearth the dysfunctional persona in the interest of “making whole” one’s meaning, purpose and sense of relatedness, moving from disorientation to integration
Individual psychotherapy is an opportunity for you to grow and have a new and broader vision or yourself and your life. This is what my clients thank me for and what I hope for you.
